BELL CIVIC CHORALE

The Chorale is a group of adult singers (19 years of age or Freshman in College and older) who are dedicated to serving the community through "powerful performances of great choral music." The Chorale is open to anyone who desires to perform the music of the masters - Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Brahms, Poulenc, Pinkham, Bach...
The Chorale presents two major concerts a year with chamber orchestra.

No experience necessary - just the desire to learn great music.

Rehearsals - Monday - 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Director - Dr. Michelle Roueche
Tuition - $50.00 per semester

Dr. Michelle Roueche is Director of Choral Studies and Professor of Music at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Equally accomplished at the piano and the conductor's podium, choirs under her direction have been invited performers for numerous Georgia Music Educators conventions, for Spivey Hall's prestigious concert series in Atlanta, and for two Southern Division conventions of the American Choral Directors Association. She studied accompanying under the tutelage of world-renow accompanist to Pavarotti, John Wustman, and conducting with the legendary Donald Bailey. A native Texan, she earned music degrees from Texas Tech University, the University of Illinois, and Arizona State University.

An active clinician and choral arranger, Dr. Roueche is represented by Walton Music and Treble Clef Music Press. Her compositions have been featured at various ACDA and All-State conventions, GMEA, and the Southeastern ACDA Women's Choral festival. She has performed in Carnegie Hall under the baton of Robert Shaw, and also appeared as an Artist-in-Residence at North Carolina State University. Prior to her appointment at UMHB, Dr. Roueche served on the faculties of Brenau University (Georgia), Waldorf College (Iowa), and Arizona State University.

Dr. Roueche is married to baritone David M. Thomas. She also serves as the Director of Music and Worship at Woodway First Univted Methodist Church near Waco.
