INSTRUMENTAL BAND ENRICHMENT
The UMHB Conservatory offers private lessons for instrumental band students.
- Lessons can be offered (1) during the band period at the student�s school or (2) before/after school at the student�s school or (3) at Presser Hall on the UMHB campus.
- Individual schedules will be set up at Fall and Spring enrollment.
- Lesson times will be determined by student needs as well as availability of specific instructors.
- Lesson times will only be offered at the student�s school before/after school when the band director is present in the band hall.
- Instructors will be UMHB music education or instrumental performance majors, UMHB faculty, or UMHB adjunct faculty. Additional teachers will be enlisted to complete instrumental needs as much as possible.
- Lessons will be paid for by the semester. Cost will be $239.00 for 14 30-minute lessons or $354.00 for 14 45-minute lessons with a UMHB student teacher or $266.00 for 14 30-minute lessons or $399.00 for 14 45-minute lessons with a degreed teacher (UMHB faculty). An optional supply fee of $25.00 may be used to purchase books/materials for each student. A balance is kept for each student and is carried over from semester to semester.
- Full payment must be made to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Conservatory in one of three ways:
- Cash or check at enrollment
- Four equal payments through electronic withdrawal with Easy Pay (form available at the Conservatory office).
- Master Card or Visa (must come to UMHB campus during business hours).
- Lessons will begin in during the months August or January.
- Makeup lessons will be offered if the instructor cancels the regular meeting.
- For student absences, a makeup lesson will be offered only when notice has been reported to the teacher by 12 noon on the day of afternoon lessons or by 6 p.m. the previous day for morning lessons. A maximum of 2 makeup lessons will be given per semester.
- Students are assigned a teacher and lesson time for the semester. Termination of lessons is appropriate only at the end of the semester or at the discretion of the Conservatory Director.
